I Love True Colors® online!!
When first introduced to True Colors® online, I wondered how it would ever catch on. Like many True Colors® certified facilitators, it was my opinion that participants could not possibly “grab” the meaning of True Colors® without our guidance in a face-to-face discussion.
While I still ensure that there is full understanding, mainly in face-to-face
discussion, I am a huge fan of True Colors® online and use it extensively.
Recently, I delivered a session where I did not use the online version, and
it confirmed for me some of the reasons why I Love True Colors® online:
| 1. | There were 24 participants in the workshop, representing
ages from early 20’s to mid 70’s and from varied backgrounds
in education and experience. There was a huge waiting period for
some who were ready to move to the next stage while others were
still reading
the cards. This also happened during the Word Cluster section.
With True Colors® online, each person can complete the assessment before attending the workshop at his or her own pace without feeling any pressure to hurry up, or being distracted by others who were chatting while waiting for others to complete their assessment.
|
| 2. | Some people have a lot of questions and want to read every word
in the initial profile information while others want to skim the
data and get involved in hands-on activities to apply the knowledge.
This
is typical of different learning styles and will never go away
in a workshop.
With True Colors® online, each person can read through the
printout that gives information about their specific colour blend
before attending the workshop and are ready to participate in
the activities more quickly. |
Since I started working with True Colors® online, there have been many improvements to the program that make it an every greater resource. For instance, for a Conference last year, a large group completed the online assessment and had to email their results to the Conference Coordinator. It was a challenge getting the data from everyone in time to prepare properly for the conference.
This year the data will be available on the secure site with password-protected access. This means that the Conference Coordinator can go online any time to see who has completed the assessment and obtain the True Colors® profiles without having to contact anyone else.
As an independent facilitator, I can purchase as many accesses as I want, set them up into separate accounts for each client, manage the confidential data while protecting my client’s information – I’m the only person who has the client information.
There have been very few “technical” problems, and when they happen, the Technical Support team has responded very quickly. They are also willing to talk directly with the Technical Support staff at my client’s offices.
Best of all, the cost is very reasonable (but don’t tell them I said that!). I am able to purchase as many accesses as I want in advance and enjoy even more savings based on the number I purchase at one time.
While I still ensure that there is a face-to-face discussion, I highly recommend True Colors® online as a great assessment tool. In the workplace today where there are many demands on our time, it is an efficient and cost-effective way to help clients understand their unique temperament mix.

FYI, I'm receiving comments from this group about how much they enjoyed doing the online version: "It was fun!" "Very interesting" "I had to think a lot and enjoyed every minute!"
